The piece
An ever-changing view. A good reason to pause.
Fine blue and white sand is sealed between two panes inside a round black frame. Turn it over and the sand falls through the liquid in slow streams, settling into ridges, peaks and drifts that look like a coastline seen from the air. No two results are ever the same.
What you get
- Round black frame on a wedge-shaped stand
- Blue and white sand sealed between two glass panes
- A new landscape every time you turn it over
- No power, no batteries, nothing to plug in
- Arrives in a printed retail gift box
The motion
How it works
Turn the frame over on its base and leave it. The sand drifts down through the liquid and finishes forming over a few minutes — that slow, unhurried settling is the whole point.
It is the sort of object people pick up and turn over without thinking about it, which is why it earns its place on a desk or a shelf someone can actually reach rather than somewhere out of the way.

Good to know
Care & good to know
Keep it indoors on a level surface and wipe the outside with a soft dry cloth. The panes are sealed — don't try to open or refill it — and it is best handled the way you'd handle any glass object.
The supplier doesn't publish dimensions, so we don't quote a size. If it matters for the spot you have in mind, message us before ordering and we'll measure a unit for you.
The plants, books and stones in the photographs are styling props and are not part of the purchase.
